Beretta U22 neos

I snagged a U22 6" off a guy today, just happened to have it and I just happened to have cash. I guess you could call it an impulse purchase.

I have never had a 22 pistol and don't own anything 22. I stopped at wal-marx and picked up some ammo on the way home. Really nice, you can get 550 rds for 16 bux at wal-marx.

I took it home and plinked about 60 rounds through it. Neat little gun, pretty accurate too. I am going to use this as my main training gun, since the 40SW stuff is getting so expensive.

Just spreading the joy!

If you all have some opinions or experience/tips with this particular gun, please let me know.

22's make for some fun and cheap shooting.
I have a .22 topend on one of my 1911's and love shooting it.

Only recommendation I have is... have fun

The NEOS is the easiest of the three (with Ruger and Browning) to take apart and clean. Ergonomics are great, but you either love the looks or hate them. I like the full rail.

Trigger mod - replace the sear spring with a spring from a Bic lighter. Easy mod -- I can't remember where I found the instructions online.

Enjoy!

The Beretta U22 Neos is THE most accurate handgun I've ever shot, in any caliber, period. It has a terrible trigger from the factory, but can be fairly easily reworked to make it VERY sweet indeed! Instructions here:

Try different .22LR ammo brands and types with it, some of the inexpensive factory ammos work VERY well on a budget. I've currently got a BSA red-dot site on mine, it's a rabbit killer from HELL!!! I briefly scoped mine with a 4x when I first purchased it, and was able to get unbelievable groups at 25 and 50 yards with it... like I said, this is an ACCURATE handgun. BTW, I have the same 6" model that you have.

Enjoy!

I also have this pistol. Best .22 handgun I've ever fired. I had a red dot on it for a while, but had a problem with leaving the red dot on and running the batteries down. I needed the gun one time and couldn't hit anything due to dead batteries so I've since removed the red dot.

Come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever had a malfunction with this gun. It has even fired "dud" rounds that my brother's S&W 22 would not.

The only thing I wish this (or any .22) gun had was a hi-cap mag.

Cool firearm. A friend brought one to a shoot. I waited and found not only an Inox 6" but also a carbine kit on sale! Can't wait to put it together and plink away :).
